Call of Lovecraft is a walking tour of Providence, Rhode Island, accessible through your mobile device. Enjoy exploring the world of H.P. Lovecraft, but remember – all is not what is seems. Beware the Old Ones that lurk in the shadows of this ancient city.

Can you avoid awakening Cthulhu as you progress?

The Call of Lovecraft uses augmented reality, which is a way of adding to the reality around you. Look through your phone’s camera in the right spots and a whole new view of your surroundings will open up before you.

WaterFire Providence® is an independent, non-profit arts organization whose mission is to inspire Providence and its visitors by revitalizing the urban experience, fostering community engagement and creatively transforming the city.

This project is part of WaterFire’s on-going exploration of new approaches to creative placemaking through art, design and innovation. This larger creative placemaking program is made possible in part by the support of ArtPlace. The Call of Lovecraft was inspired by "The Call of Cthulhu", a short story by H.P. Lovecraft.
